Did I do the right thing?

Ugh so I have... had this friend Sean. And he's always bitching about life and not doing a damn thing about. I've gotten him jobs, drove him to work, gave him money for nice clothes, and he still manages to lose or quit those jobs in less then a month and then he bitches some more. I'm only going to comment on your positive side note because I don't really have much to say on the rest of it because I agree with you...

Congrats on the job! Did you end up getting the one at Speedway or is it somewhere else?

got one at McD's. I start tomorrow. I'm really happy about it since I've worked for McDs before and I know what I am doing and its always constant and fast

I've been in the place where apathy and laziness is easier and seems preferable to going through hardship and changing things. Getting out of a pit is hard. When you dig yourself deeper, it gets harder. This guy's spent much of the past three years doing exactly that.

When he hits rock bottom, things will change. I actually would have suggested the course you took some time ago; I'm not big on this train of thought usually, but sometimes it's true that the faster someone hits bottom, the better it may be for them in the end.

He wants people to leave him alone? Leave him alone. He'll see soon enough that it's a lot worse that way. Just like I did.
