Prosperity Challenge - 7.3 (Days/Years 19-21 - Thigpen and Haynes)

Jun 24, 2008 18:39

I know updating so sporadically is probably the best way to lose any readers I might have had, but I still love my prosperity neighborhood and want to record it - from time to time! One good thing is that I've started playing on a better computer, which should boost picture quality. I won't get to those pictures for a while yet, though. In game time I'm most of the way through Days/Years 22-24.

Enough introduction, and on to the update!

Thigpen

Bob proposed to Tracy, and asked her to move in. They'd only been seeing each other for a short time - much shorter than the time Bob had spent with Melanie - but they both felt early on that there was no reason to wait. Their busy work schedules forced them to put off the wedding for the time being - it was very important to both of them that they have a big party to celebrate and they didn't want to do it halfway.

Tracy brought along her pet fish, which were then mostly neglected and replaced every few days. The Thigpens had never been the most nurturing bunch.

Lise was still working nonstop, only pausing in her efforts to get ahead to eat and sleep.

It was easy for Glen to justify all the nightclub hopping he did to himself; it wasn't as if Lise even noticed he was gone. Unfortunately, his romantic efforts were no more successful now in his forties than they'd been in his twenties. (Glen is never, ever going to accomplish his LTW of 20 Loves. Everyone in the neighborhood except his wife and daughter hates his guts.)

Haynes

Lou's reputation as a beautician was starting to really pay off. The family business was doing well at last.

There was never a dull moment at the house. (Yes, that's Ria wetting herself as she watches a fight that no doubt includes Glen.)

Cheryl, Lou's very new wife, had just announced her pregnancy. Lou felt strange knowing that he was going to be a father again, so many years later. His only other child had died years ago. He felt as if his life was starting over somehow.

But, alas, it turned out that in fact his life was ending. Lou was the oldest citizen of Winterfell, and his time was up.

Cheryl and Eli were devastated.

Eli decided that night that he'd leave for college in the morning. There was no longer any reason to stay in the house; Cheryl was almost a stranger. Shena, at least, would be waiting for him at Academie Le Tour. Of course, there was still the little problem of Rochell who seemed to think she was Eli's girlfriend; she'd be at college, too.

And so it was that when Cheryl had her baby, she was all alone.

Little Taylor Haynes was quite literally all she had.

(Taylor is a boy. Don't worry, things get better for Cheryl very soon!)
