Prosperity Challenge - 6.4 (Days/Years 16-18 - Haynes and Ebadi)

Lately I've been playing much more than updating, and there's so much I want to catch up on! Here we go...

Haynes

Lou felt he was really improving with his makeovers. He hadn't had any complaints in weeks.

Word seemed to be spreading about his little home business, and he'd worked on at least half the neighborhood.

However, no matter how much he threw himself into his work, he wasn't making a profit, and he was really starting to feel his age. Ever since Leone died, he'd felt that he was without a sense of purpose. Eli was largely self-sufficient and didn't need much supervision. Lou realized that he felt like he was just waiting for death - a depressing thought.

So perhaps that explained why things turned out the way they did. Cheryl Rauscher, a regular at the salon, invited him to dinner one evening.

Eli had given her a practice makeover earlier that day, and she was such a good sport she didn't wash it off right away.

The date was fabulous, and Lou had more fun than he could remember having in years. Cheryl was funny and sweet, and so young Lou began to feel young himself.

Now, Lou was not what you'd normally call impulsive, or even free-spirited. He made no decisions lightly or without a great deal of thought.

And yet, there he was, marrying Cheryl that very night.

Who knows why he did it, or why she accepted? Lou never stopped to think it through rationally - he never wanted to. And when it was done, it was done.

Cheryl Rauscher was now Cheryl Haynes, and Lou had never been happier.

Ebadi

(This is just too goofy for a straight-faced story.)

Things had been a little different for Ria since that fateful night at the bar. Being a vampire was taking some getting used to.

She hadn't come out to anyone except Amar about her transition, but fortunately he'd been understanding. He didn't want to put off the wedding, though, so soon everyone was going to know the truth behind the strange hours she'd been keeping lately.

As it turned out though, Rochell was the only family member in attendance. The rest of the Koepples, Rochell explained, were sick and didn't want to spread their illness around. Amar didn't have any family to begin with.

Standing there under the arch, Ria felt a swell of love for Amar. They exchanged vows and rings, gazing into each others' eyes.

Ria's gaze was making Amar feel funny.

The bite that followed was unexpected for both of them, and led to their first fight as a married couple.

"Damn it, Ria," Amar said in the limo on the way to their honeymoon. "I don't want to be a vampire! I like the sun, and blood makes me feel faint."

Ria had to admit it wasn't very convenient. And she did feel bad about turning Amar against his will.

It was common knowledge in the vampire community that a cure existed, though taking it was greatly looked down upon. Ria felt regret, but she loved Amar, and he really did seem miserable. He didn't even enjoy turning into a bat.

And so, their short reign as the only vampire couple in Winterfell came to an end, and they began a decidedly more conventional activity...

...having a baby.
