Postcards From Pleasantview
Today I played what was once the Bright household at Pleasantview's Sim State University.
When we last saw them: Jaki lost all the weight she gained just before college, Meidie had a dream date with her townie fiance Clarence Philippine and gained maximum enthusiasm for Music & Dance.
As you can see, Meidie has her priorities straight when it comes to college. Drink fruit punch now, worry about study later.
Dirk, on the other hand, is obsessive about his grades. He's an absolute perfectionist and has no desire to enjoy himself until he's sure he's made the Dean's List.
Dirk: Well, it pays off, doesn't it? I totally made the Dean's List. What a way to finish freshman year!
Jaki: "And daddy didn't resurrect her! I can't believe my mom is really gone forever..." *sniffle*
Meidie: "That's so not fair! She resurrected uncle Jason when he died of old age - the least he could do is return the favor! I'm so sorry, Jaki...."
Streaker: "Is this a bad time....?"
Yeah, in case I forgot to mention/you're just tuning in, Meidie and Jaki are first cousins.
Meidie: *bes so absorbed in college football!*
Fugtownie: "Some of us are trying to study. If you don't turn that tv down, I can't be held responsible for wishing to see your ghost..."
Uh-huh. Pretty sure it's her house, not yours...
Jaki inherited a great deal of money from her mother, Kitty. It didn't make her feel any better, though. She decided the best thing she could do is to work really hard and get excellent grades. It's what her mom would have wanted...
Meidie. Just because. I actually adore Meidie. She's much prettier with her new makeover, don't you think? I didn't actually realise she was that pretty until today.... I love her slightly elven features....
Clarence: "Come on, who needs college? Drop out so we can get married...?"
Meidie: *blush* "You know I can't do that..."
Meidie: "... besides, what's the rush? We've got plenty of time to spend the rest of our lives together!"
Clarence: "I just hate being without you..."
Meidie: "Awww..."
Dirk: "Remember that time on the school bus when Dustin and Angela were thrown off for necking too much and they had to walk home in the rain?"
Jaki: "Omg, I know, right! That was so funny!"
Meidie: If my cousin starts macking on our roommate, this house will be unbearable. Please don't let them end up together!
They might. It's really up to them. They have two bolts, but so far nothing has come of it.
Dirk: "Dad! It's so good to see you! You brought Bowie, right?"
Darren: "It wasn't really your old man you wanted to see, now, was it?"
Dirk: "Aww, Dad. You know I love seeing you too..."
Dirk: "That's pretty good, Bowie. But could you try to look deader? Remember, you've got to do this when you get home and make Florence freak out, okay?"
Dirk: "Uhh, anybody? Little help?"
Dirk is still King Of Kitchen Fail.
Jaki: He is pretty lousy in the kitchen, but damn is that boy fine!!
He's yours for the taking if you feel like making a move....
... but alas, Jaki is far too busy trying to make her dead mother proud to take any time for romance... maybe someday...
What else happened?
Jaki made the Dean's List.
Jaki inherited money from Kitty Larson.
Meidie got an A-.
Meidie had 2 good dates with her fiance Clarence Philippine (a townie).
Jaki learned couples counselling.
Dirk gained a cleaning point.
Dirk taught Bowie to play dead.
Jaki gained a mechanical point.
Meidie threw a lousy party.
