Visions From Veronaville
By popular demand (heh, one person, but any feedback is better than nothing) I'll be calling these Maxis family updates by the story names I've started using more recently instead of Gameplay/Date.
Today I played Miranda Capp in Veronaville.
When we last saw her: She had just purchased her first home after being expelled from college, gained membership to Sue's Secret Kitchen and was chased by bees repeatedly.
Miranda: Why do bees hate me so much? I love them. It's not fair.....
Miranda invited her sister Desdemona over, among other guests....
Prof. Griff: "I just can't believe a promising young thing like you isn't going to college. Are you sure I can't convince you to join us in the fall?"
Desdemona: *sigh* "College isn't everything, you know...."
Desdemona was to prove very popular with the male guests......
Miranda: "Desdemona's milkshake brings all the boys to the yard."
Charlie: Damn! You're telling me!
Charlie: *contemplates ass groping and can barely stop himself*
Miranda & Marla: How does she do it!!?
Poor Miranda and Marla. The boys had no interest in talking to either of them with Desdemona around.
Charlie: *overly loud and hoping to impress Desdemona* "Miranda, you seem like a pretty switched on kind of girl. I run my own business and we could use somebody like you on our team. How'd you like a job as a record store clerk?"
Miranda: *gasp* "Really? That'd be great. Thanks!"
Desdemona: "You can't really think I'm pretty enough to be a Hollywood actress!"
Charlie: "No, I'm serious."
Miranda: "Heh, she's still so young, isn't she?"
Marla: "Yeah, but it's working for her...."
Miranda: Maybe guys would flock to me like that if I was more charismatic.....
Despite her newfound gainful employment, Miranda is still looking for her dream job. Her lifelong dream has always been to make it as a celebrity chef. She's even pegged a picture of her all time favorite celebrity chef to her desk to keep her motivated towards her goal. No luck yet, but someday she'll find a start. She checks the classifieds every single morning.
She's also quite serious about the pursuit of becoming more charismatic. She knows the things she says to guys always seem to come out sounding lame, or she starts making things up to make herself sound more interesting than she thinks she really is. What she's really working on is not charisma, but confidence. An issue many girls her age face, but like many girls, she thinks it's a problem that she's facing alone....
Miranda: *super tense!* "This. Isn't. Funny. Anymore."
Miranda: "I'm beginning to think I might be accident prone."
No kidding!
She won't let anything keep her from her hobby though. Let the bees do their worst - she will never stop enjoying all things nature related!
Miranda is always trying new dishes. She likes learning to cook new things as practice for the day when she actually starts working with food.
Miranda: Being stung by bees sure makes my body ache! I think I'll just relax for a while...
Poor sweetie. I feel so bad for you every time you get chased, but then you shriek and flail your arms and I can't help but giggle.....

Miranda was promoted. She is now a Party D.J.
Skylar Reamon (a townie) called and promised Miranda higher wages in her career.
Miranda caught a Margarina Butterfly for her collection.
