Gameplay: September 1st 2010
Today I played the Hiatt family in Strangetown.
When we last saw them: Cheva was heavily pregnant with their first bundles of joy, she became my first ever sim to be abducted by aliens and ate cheesecake in an attempt to get twins (because last November when I played them last, I wasn't sure if cheesecake twins were just a rumor - I know they're not a rumor now, though...)
Poor Cheva, pregnant for almost 10 real life months... I never intended it to be so...
Cheva and Alec's puppy, Ben, grew in to a freakin' adorable dog! If anybody is curious, he's the result of the Crittur family's puppies (you know, the family that's just two dogs that shipped with pets....)
Incidentally, it was Cheva's dad, Chester Gieke, who took in the Crittur family. Unfortunately for them all, it was the first time I'd ever played pets and I was unaware what the problem was. I didn't know to look or even to train and the Crittur dogs as shipped will not touch pet food, only sim food. They were all taken away just moments after the puppies were born.
If I could dig through solid cement so effortlessly, I'd look that pleased too...
Cheva: "What do you know? Cheesecake really does give you twins!"
I know, sweetie. I've had many such instances since I played you ten months ago...
Cheva: "Don't you steal my thunder, you neglectful bitch!" *winning smile*
The one she's holding is the boy. Meet Carl! Black hair, Cheva's eyes and a geneticized skintone.
And this one is the girl. Meet Lucy! Black hair, Cheva's eyes and a somewhat darker geneticized skintone than her brother's.
Dominic: You know, I'm beginning to think this Cheva lady cheats.....
Cheva: *titter*
Yeah, she cheats at chess with everyone, despite all her logic points. If it makes you feel any better, she'd probably beat you even if she didn't cheat.
Ramin: "Damn! There's nothing hotter than a woman who smells of baby powder!"
I agree. I use Demeter Baby Powder scented perfume myself. Works like a charm.
Alec has finally earned a nice obstacle course from his military service. He's still sorta fail when it comes to getting over the wall, though....
And you'll all be glad to know that being abducted once has not deterred Cheva from her love of stargazing....
Alec sure is a proud daddy. He doesn't mind at all when it's his turn for the 4am feeding....
They're actually both really good parents...
Alec: I feel like a tool playing chess against myself....
Cheva: "Hrm, what to do, what to do....? Hey, look over there!"
Alec: "No way, sister. You think I'm not wise to your tricks by now?"
How quickly they grow up! Obviously, this is Lucy.
All I was praying for was that they wouldn't inherit those cheeks!

Now I know they both look a little... unconventional. But I actually remember Cheva looking much like Lucy when she was that age - chin of doom, weirdly small looking nose.... I'm thinking Lucy at least will probably grow in to her features like Cheva did. Carl on the other hand... well, I've never had a sim that looked anything like Carl does. So we'll just have to wait and see...
Carl: Daddy's not so Maxis anymore!
That's right. Considering the twins having non-Maxis hair, I decided the time was ripe for their parents to get similar makeovers.
Alec plays favorites something fierce! All he ever wants to do is spend time with his son since he became a toddler. Lucy seems blissfully unaware, thankfully....
Cheva sporting a marcel wave and new makeup. I really like how she turned out, and it tickles me that she now has the same wavy hair as her mom.
Ben is a very curious fellow, especially when it comes to other animals. This time he was in over his head, however. The poor guy - he was miserable for the rest of the day, but Alec and Cheva were at work....
These two are actually very good twins. They keep each other amused while their parents are at work. Their nanny, however - ultimate fail! She has not once ever interacted with them, except to force multiple bottles down their throats in quick succession. Oh, unless you count the fact that as soon as she notices they are out of their cribs, she immediately puts them back to bed.
Alec: My son is so awesome, don't you think?
Awww, I'm just glad you love him so much. If you think he is, then I do.
Cheva: "C'mon, honey, sing with me now! I'm a little teapot...."
Lucy: *would rather be playing in the toilet again*
