Gameplay: August 31st 2010

Today I played the Ramaswami family in Strangetown.
When we last saw them: Sanjay had a fail party, both he and Priya made some new friends and Priya became pregnant with their long awaited firstborn.

Jessie is blissfully unaware of the intended purpose of the toy in the corner.  Priya started nesting quite some time ago, but as far as Jessie is concerned, she is Priya and Sanjay's baby.

Did I mention last time that Priya has a secondary aspiration of Grilled Cheese......?

Priya: "Ugh, I don't feel so good all of a sudden...."
Lyndsay: It's probably all that terrible shy dancing you've been doing.  It's even making me feel sick!

... and the bathroom was liberally sprinkled with half-digested grilled cheese.....

Sanjay: "You missed me while I was at work, didn't you girl?"
Jessie: *can barely contain her excitement*

Kaylynn: "Ugh, do you have to talk about food?  I've been watching your wife puke all afternoon.  It's enough to put a girl off her food permanently!"

Kaylynn: "What about movies?  Seen any good movies lately?"
Sanjay: "Ahaha, funny you should mention that.  See, we were robbed recently, and the burglar took our awesome big screen television set.  We haven't really had a chance to buy a new one, what with saving for baby stuff and all.  But I do like movies - I watched them all the time before the robbery...."

Soon enough, the puking was over.  And Priya added some new dishes to her menu, such as cornbread.  Her doctor told her a healthy baby wouldn't be grown on grilled cheese alone, so she improvised.  However, she never strayed too far from bread and breadlike dishes.  It just didn't seem right to her.

Priya may be glad to finally have a bun in the oven, but it doesn't mean she loves her first "child" any less.  Jessie is actually terribly spoiled by both her and Sanjay.  To the point of those cliches about childless couples treating their pets like actual children for want of real children.  Yeah, I never liked those cliches either.  My pets are as deserving of love as people and my being barren has nothing to do with it.  So there.

Jessie is very fond of singing.

Jessie: *whines over hunger pains but refuses to do anything about it*
Priya: "What's wrong, Jessie?  There's food in your bowl.  Go look!"
There is always food in Jessie's bowl, but Jessie is one of those sim pets that are literally too stupid to eat until it's almost too late.  She has even been praised while eating pet food to the point where it's maxed in the direction of eating pet food.  Dogs of her disposition stupidity are the only ones I've ever had taken away by animal control.

Sanjay and his new friend Celeste have found something new they have in common - a love of awkward shy dancing!  Huzzah!

Sanjay is going to make a wonderful father.  He spends almost every moment he's not at work with Jessie.
Priya has found a way to pass the idle moments of her pregnancy.  She's started work on her very first novel.  Will she ever finish it?  Only time will tell...

Jessie: Who are you?  Get the hell out of my bathroom!

Jessie: And you, get the hell away from my family!  *growls at Priya's gigantic baby bump*
Yeah, she's not the brightest crayon in the box....

A midnight snack of doughnuts.  I envy Priya right now.

But as her pregnancy advanced, Priya got hungrier and hungrier and all she wanted to do was eat grilled cheese.  Thankfully, due to being constantly on the verge of starvation, she didn't put on any weight during her pregnancy.  It really was hard on her, though.  She even had to spend most of the baby room savings on a very expensive bed in order to get any rest at all!

Edward: "Do you know where I could get any grilled cheese around here?  I've kinda got a hankering..."
Priya: "Omg, you like grilled cheese too??!!"
Edward: "Of course.  It's the ultimate food, don't you think?"
Priya: "God, yes!  You know, I just so happen to have fried up more grilled cheese sandwiches than I can eat alone.  We can maybe talk about grilled cheese some more over lunch...."

Priya: I'm so lucky to get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.... *sigh*

Yup, Sanjay and Celeste really enjoy their shy dancing.  It's just as well.  Priya's not too fond of shy dancing now that she's as big as a house.  Luckily for her, that was all about to change.....

It's a boy!  Meet Pierre.  Black hair and brown eyes just like his parents, and a geneticized skintone which is unfortunately geneticized way too low in relation to my defaults.  I thought about exiting without saving, but I hadn't saved for about two sim days due to Priya's hard pregnancy, and I really didn't want to play it all over again.  Besides, Priya and Sanjay have no parents, so we can all just pretend one of their parents had a darker skintone, yes?  And I know, the name Pierre is completely the wrong ethnicity, but who cares?  I just like the name.

Priya: "So do you want to maybe start another baby while my womb is still warm?"
Sanjay: "Are you sure you don't want to take a bath or something first?"
Priya: "Nope!" *cheesy grin*
Thankfully, they did not succeed in falling pregnant.  I'd set ACR for them only to want one child, and Priya has only 7 days to elder, so here's hoping for no ACR surprises.  Their house isn't really big enough for more than one.
