Falling Water

I took my vacation the week of Labor Day, went on a road trip by myself. Stayed overnight in downtown Chicago, met a local artist there that I've been e-mailing, it was fun to meet her. From there it was

on to the Frank Lloyd Wright house in PA called Falling Water. I've wanted to see it for years so I just decided it was time. From there it was the shoreline area of northern New Jersey to visit my old friend Kelly and to put to rest the crush I had on her (mission accomplished). We had a nice visit for a couple hours, then I drove down to the ocean, I walked along a deserted stretch of beach, picking up a few shells. I watched the gulls and some other small birds that ran in and out with the waves that rolled up on the beach. Next on my to-see list was Niagara Falls, nice place to visit, better if I wouldn't have been alone. Then the long drive home and stuck in traffic in Chicago.

Some tidbits for me to remember, the blind lady filling the soda machine at an interstate rest stop. My desire to actually use one of those wayside grills that are everywhere but I've yet to see anyone actually cook anything on one (any takers for a roadside picnic). Highway 70 in NJ, it was a very spooky road at night, the next day I learned it was haunted by a witch and told it was good I didn't leave my car. Veronica. The crying woman at a Michigan convenience store who asked for fifty cents, I gave her twenty dollars because I had extra (gas was cheaper than I expected).

Overall it was a worthwhile trip but I prefer "out west" and I'll go west next year (if I even take a big trip).
