things to talk/rant about in this entry...
1. work
2. computer
3. graduation
4. writing
5. weekend
okay, first on the list -- work! i started on monday and i found out i still have incentive which is the bestest thing in the world. on monday i did 750 applications ($20), 750 on tuesday ($20), 750 on wednesday ($20), 1000 on thursday ($35), and another 750 on friday ($20) while training my sister.
ladies and gentlemen, that's an extra one hundred and five dollars i earned this week. ::dances around:: however, with the good comes the bad -- i mostly did february, march, and april apps. ::looks at the calendar:: we're wicked behind and it's ridiculous. anything that got pre-printed in those months has to be entered by hand which takes twice as long as scanning the app. grr.
and then to top it off, because we're so behind my new supervisor (which omg, hate!) has decided it's mandatory for validators (me) to work saturdays like a normal work day -- 8am-4pm. so what am i doing home right now? i told her rather bluntly that i hadn't been informed on this and couldn't work the next two weekends because of graduation parties (and we have two this weekend) and going down to help get stuff ready for jess's wedding (we're not mentioning the booze to supervisor).
argh. so starting june 25th, i'm stuck working six fucking days a week. it's not what i wanted to do with my summer, at all. but i keep telling my american-consumer heart that it's more money which means i can buy more dvds and cds and books and that makes my heart very happy.
well, four paragraphs on work --
i hate clogging up people's friends page. so computer. last i told you, it was on the floor next to my writing trunk in the basement. however, last night as i went to paw through my trunk for a notebook that had an idea written in it, i discovered a dead water beetle by the computer and ants crawling all over it and the beetle. i freaked. i picked up my computer and put it on the chair i'm sitting in and then got a bottle of windex.
windex kills ants on contact and when you don't have raid, it's a good alternative. i sprayed and sprayed and sprayed and then wiped it up. and then i started yelling at my parents. needless to say, the computer is now sitting on the mac computer hutch and is waiting for my sister to unhook her computer upstairs. but it's safe and clean and not covered in ants now.
(ooh. and mom feels guilty. she just came in with those raid bait traps and set them up down here.)
graduation! (moving right along) laura's graduation was on thursday. i saw my two favorite high school english teachers and gave them hugs. strauss is thinking about going back to grad school with me and celeste (hee!) and begovich made me call him mark which was *weird.* my chem teacher is looking awesome (she just had surgery and missed this whole semester) and is wicked proud of my sister.
i saw a ton of people i'd grown up with and all my little sister's friends so tiny are now so big. laura graduated as number seven in her class, but we actually graduated with the same gpa (i was seventeen) and i keep telling her that the class of 2002 was incredibly smart and therefore, she is *not* better than me. it's mostly teasing, really.
writing. i need to talk to ashley. badly. i miss my writing babble and i missed her call at work and i'm so bummed out right now about the aforementioned. that's all, really. kat, i have two chapters ready to post, but they're on my damn disconnected computer. ::whine::
and now weekend. um, in two hours i'm going to mallory and melanie's graduation party (the twin daughters of my baby-sitter and talk about growing up with them, shesh) and then later tonight the relatives get here. wish me luck and text message me sunday from 2-8!
bench again because it rocks hardcore!!
