"No."
"Misao."
"No."
"Misao."
"No!"
"Misao!"
"No!"
"MISAO!"
"...Sorry."
"You have to do this. You can't just tell me no."
"I'm telling you no right now."
"Misao, please, don't make me threaten you."
"Threaten me with what? Soujiro, I'll kick your ass if you dare try to--"
"Misao, if you don't take this mission you'll be grounded."
"What?!?! You can't ground me!"
"You know I can, Misao. I'll cut you off from the outside for weeks, and then, I'll make you do strictly paperwork for a month, no field work."
"That's not fair."
"I'm sorry."
"Why am I always sent on these dumb ass missions? I graduated highschool, so why the hell do you keep sending me back."
"You're the only one who can pass for a 17 year old and you know that."
"Yeah, I know."
"I have to speak with someone really quickly, but I'll meet you in the briefing room. Wait for me there."
~~~~~~~~~~
Misao sat patiently in the briefing room, doodling with her pen and paper. God, did she hate doing these highschool missions.
"Misao, I know you got pressured into doing this, but please tell me you won't jeapordize this mission just because you're angry." Soujiro said, his small archaic smile in place.
"Course not." Misao sighed. "Wouldn't want to hurt the mission."
"Good." Soujiro's smile widened. "Then down to business: Same game as usual. Young girl named Molly, her father's a crime lord, and we want you to get as much information from Molly as possible. Of course there are some differences from previous missions. You'll be playing a junior in highschool rather than a senior--"
"You mean I've been promoted!" Misao said sarcastically.
Soujiro pointedly ignored her comment, "and the school you will be attending is a private school not a public school, so you'll be wearing the uniform."
"Oh shit, don't tell me I'm going to be in one of those sailormoon, skirt just under my ass, uniforms!"
Soujiro continued to ignore Misao, "Usually the administration of the school cooperates with us and allows us to place an agent into their school, not this time. Mr.Kamiyoji, Molly's father, donates millions of dollars to the school and the school, in turn, is willing to protect him. So not only will you be hiding your identity from your fellow peers, but you'll be deceiving the entire faculty as well."
"Meh, a piece of cake."
"Not exactly Misao. You can't pull all those stunts you're used to. No one will be there to watch your back this time. No one is on our side at this school. If you get caught, you get caught. You MUST be discreet."
"I will, i will." Misao said while sketching a trucker hat ontop of the chibi soujiro she had expertly doodled onto her note pad.
"Here's your class schedule and a picture of Molly. She's in at least half of your classes. It shouldn't be too bad. Good luck, Misao."
"Thanks." Misao grumbled, picking up the schedule and picture without looking at them.
"You start school tomorrow morning, Misao-chan." Soujiro said, his smile turning gentle. Misao liked Soujiro best this way, without the business side of him. Damnit, if only she didn't work for him, the possibilities...
Well, her non-existant love life wasn't the problem right now, the problem was being banished to hell, AKA highschool, for the 5--no 6th-- time in her life.
yes, she did indeed hate this mission.
