Ike
Hurricane Ike rolled into the Galveston/Houston area very early Friday morning. Stephanie rode it out at her marina (Legend Point, one of the best hurricane holes on Clear Lake), and amused herself by getting the kayak out yesterday and shooting a bunch of pics of the carnage at Watergate next door (NOT one of the best hurricane holes on Clear Lake). In related news, half a dozen or so sailing friends and acquaintances elected to ride out the storm on Galveston; they had access to the Galvez hotel and its bunker-like parking structure. They have been heard from and are ok, tho emergency services report that the island will be "uninhabitable" for about a month.
In unrelated news, the Grand Canyon trip was fantastic, and I will post pix soon. Hope all're well.
