At 10:41pm I lost a great influence in my life. My Granny passed away quietly surrounded by family and friends. For 51 years my Pawpaw has loved the woman he called Sug, short for Sugar. She taught me how to cook, how to love, and how to be okay with decisions I made in my life. She was my comfort, confidant, and caretaker.
She was the baby of 23 and a real rebel. She lived her whole life in South Alabama. Granny had a knack for knowing when something was wrong, what was wrong, and how to make you feel better.
She has gone on to be with her family in heaven and will continue to watch over all of us her on Earth. She had many different titles during her life........Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend and co-worker.
She had many names Sug, Momma, Granny, Big Granny, Aunt Lillie, Lillie, Ms. Lilly and Mrs. Gaskin.
All her knew will never forget her table was always ready to nourish the body and soul.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 51 years, Robert L.Gaskin
Her two children, Elaine Sims and Francis Ivon Gomes
5 Grandchildren, Stacey Inman, Heath Gomes, Heather Gomes, Michelle Nelson and Jeremy Sims
11 Great Grandchildren, Kaylynn, Cassie, Bailey, Dalton, Ethan , Quint, Mason, Madison, Lilly, Preston, and Nevaeh.
Nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Thank you for the time I had with you and I will carry me with you always.I can never replace the love you have shown me and I hope to be as kind and caring as you.
Love Always your lil punkin,
Heather
