Yesterday I took Mars to his check up appt at the vet. His ears look great, and smell great too! She said she could actually see his ear drum this time! yay! He was such a good boy, was letting the vet poke and prod, and was very gentle. So why does he growl and bark at EVERYONE who comes to my house, and continue growling until they've been here for over an hour?! I now have to do twice a week ear cleanings. It's pretty nasty. And every 12 hours I have to put this ointment in his ears...bleck. It cost me another $160 for everything, putting my total vet bill over $300, but he's worth it and rarely do I have to pay for anything besides food for my dogs.

I had a WIC appt this morning and was weighed. I lost another three pounds according to their scale, but it could be off. My midwife appt was moved from Friday to tomorrow morning, so I will recheck my weight when I get there. So strange for me to go through the first half of this pregnancy hardly gaining, then having major spikes, then leveling, and now the past two weeks I have been losing! If it's true that I lost those pounds, it would put my total weight gain at exactly 30 pounds, which is perfect. Who knows if it will stay that way!

This diet they have me on is so strict. I have been so good though. I eat hardly any carbs, lots of low fat protein, and absolutely NO sweets or fruit. I swear, as long as my sugars go back to normal after pregnancy, I am getting myself and big fat Kahlua and cream latte, on ice! And eating blueberry pancakes, and having a baked potatoe, at eating fettuccini, and a fruit smoothie, and anything else I can think of. I'll probably go on a week long binge. Although, eating so healthy might have put me through detox, so I'm not sure my body can handle all the crap anymore...atleast not all at once.

Oh yes...my nursery is DONE!! The only thing we have left to hang on the walls is the belly cast (which we haven't gotten yet, and probably wont be hung until after the birth), the slip cover for my glider (my mom is doing next week), and the wooden letters for her name (which we can't do until we pick a name). That't it. Everything is washed, put away, and lookin pretty! I'm gonna take pics with my cam, but since it isn't digital, it might take a while to get them up here. It looks straight out of a catalog though, I love it.

I got the pediatrician that came highly recommended to me. We'll see how much I like her. She was the only one still taking patients (new to the clinic), so I was lucky there. Now we just need to clean my truck, install the carseat, and if the midwives keep me, I have a list of supplies I need to get for the homebirth.

Speaking of midwives, my sugars have been better since the drastic diet change, but still not within their range. I've had some of the lowest morning sugars yet, but I don't think it's gonna be good enough. I think I am finally coming to terms with it. When they switch me to the OB (if that's what they do), I will request to be discharged asap, as long as my health and the babies is okay. I will be laboring at home for as long as possible (they recommend that anyway), and I will have signs hung everywhere saying 'no artificial nipples' and 'cloth diapers only' and whatever else I feel the need to put up. I checked their policy online and video cameras as well as still cameras are allowed in the delivery room, and I can have four non-medical people in the room with me. The rest of our families can wait outside during the delivery, which isn't a big deal, I probably wouldn't want so many distractions anyway. I may take my classmate up on her offer to be my eyes during this whole process, just because she wont be emotionally attached to the situation so she could really focus on what they are doing to me/baby and alert one of us if she thinks they are doing something against our wishes. Sad that this has to be a worry in our hospitals, and fortunately, ours isn't too bad, but it does have it's problems.

Don't really have much else to say. Hope everyone is doing well!

oh yeah! I went to the pro-life rally today to protest. Small turn out than last year, probably because of the rain, but it was still worth my time. Held a sign taht said 'I'm glad I had the choice' in hot-pink. Had a good time!
