Leaving home this morning for work (for those that don't know, I work Saturdays and usually have Monday off), I wasn't watching where I was going. My attention was divided between kissing Connie goodbye and a car that was stopped in the middle of the road, blocking it.
I managed to put one foot right on the edge of the concrete path and it slipped off. I could probably have prevented myself from falling over but my ankle was already hurting before I hit the ground and to stop the fall would have required putting a sudden amount of weight on it. So I didn't.
I landed on the lawn beside the path - nice and soft! But then had trouble getting up. Connie rushed forward and helped me back to my foot. Singular. The other one was completely missing!
Okay, I exaggerate. It was still there but hurting like hell! Connie helped me back inside and rolled my sock down. I could wiggle my toes, so it wasn't broken, but I'm pretty sure I have a nasty sprain. I managed to stand on it after a bit and drove to work.
Work was painful!
Got home and took my shoes off, to discover a huge swollen lump on the side of my ankle. It still hurts. I've taken one of Connie's left over pain-killers. It's not having much effect!
I will try and rest it as much as possible over the next two days and hope it heals up by Tuesday.
In other news, my V5C (vehicle registration document) arrived in the post today! I am now the official registered keeper of my car.
I don't own it... The finance company owns it!
