The ongoing gay marriage debate has largely struck me as a bit of a theoretical one. No, I don't like that there's laws on the books that say I can or can't do something that a hetrosexual couple can do, but ... well, on the other side of the coin, weddings are expensive things and really, it's a very expensive way to make a point.
But it occurred to me last night... the point that it makes is that I love and want to be with Ben for the rest of my life. And that's definitely a point worth making, repeatedly. With jewellery and dancing..
Now, I'm still a very very cheap man and the expense of a wedding is still something I'm recoiling at, but ... still, it's something I keep in the back of my head as an activity I wouldn't necessarily avoid forever.
