House pain in neck.
Long term readers may remember I'm meant to be buying a house. Well...
Today we did our final pre-settlement inspection. Settlement was meant to happen this afternoon, and I'd get keys and all would be right with the world. Huzzah?
Not quite.
Seller's bank forgot to send down the title deeds (for some reason, their bank and their title deeds are in Sydney). Which means my bank doesn't have the title deeds, so they won't give me a mortgage yet, which means settlement can't happen and I can't get keys.
Vendors are happy to give me occupation by tomorrow, though, so I should get keys anyway. Which is somewhat important as Ben is going down to Victoria to collect a few things he left behind with his housemate (including his fish) and his fish definately need somewhere to live when they get back here.
So very very close, yet so much aargh still to go.
