This afternoon I was talking with Coworker #1 when Coworker #2 interrupted to ask a question about secondary antibodies.

Coworker #2: Sorry to interrupt.

Me: We just were talking about using goldfish crackers to lure in and capture alligators to start our own alligator-host antibody company. You can interrupt.

For the record - Neuro2A cells are the cutest cells that I've ever seen! With their pudgy little cell bodies and tiny baby neurites...omg. Excuse me while I go squeal in the corner.

Just spent the last five and a half hours trying to cut a 2700 character abstract down to 2300. Thought I had it, only to realize that authors and affiliations count towards the limit too! Argh ( Read more... )

I got the proofs back on my paper today - one of the comments from the editor was that the italics in an amino acid sequence I have in one of the figures either need to be explained or removed, and Former Boss said she thought we should removed them. a;resji;oerjisdfa Noooooo!! Just got word that my last grad school paper was accepted for publication! Woohoo! I initially wrote it in November of last year...spent most of January working on an additional figure...it was rejected from one journal in April, so my adviser rewrote part of it and we submitted it to another journal...got the reviews back in August with a crapton ( Read more... )

I finally started using Scrivener for work stuff - and omg, just as awesome as fiction writing! I'm working on pulling together data from literature searches to create a table, so I have a binder that has the text from the email from boss with instructions; a copy of an older table that's my starting point for the new one; a link to the word ( Read more... )
