Totally random...
This entry is gonna be totally random...I just feel like writing anything, so I'm gonna write about all the stupid little things that come to my mind...
First of all, yesterday was Halloween! Well, now...I must say that here in Italy there's not a real Halloween tradition, it has become wuite popular lately, but it's just an excuse to have huge parties in discos, and since I don't really love discos and dancing (I'm really bad at it, I guess that's why I hate it...plus, you gotta listen to the crap they make you listen in those places, and they insist on calling it music....), Halloween parties are not an option for me... but I did something very Halloweenish...my friend and I watched Tim Burton's "Nightmare before Christmas"...and that was my Halloween, I had fun without dancing! =)
Holiday today! I love it when holidays are on Mondays or Fridays...it means a very long weekend...although I haven't done much actually, I'm way too busy trying to write my final dissertation, something which is turning out to be even more difficult than I expected...I just can't start it, I feel like I can't do that, it's so frustrating, I understood what I'm supposed to do, the problem is I can't seem to do it....and the fact that I'm loving my new job doesn't help one bit...I do my best during the day and at night, when I'm supposed to work on my final dissertation, I'm way too tired and I'd rather do something else....I still have seven months, I know, but time flies and I'm so scared I'm not gonna make it...yeah, I know, I'm pessimistic, always been, always will be....
Talking about my job, I finally started to do what I was hired (mmh....can you talk about hiring someone when you're not paying them? Dunno...) for: translating! Now, it's challenging, especially when you have to translate architectural terms which you have an hard time understanding in your own language, but I love it... I guess that's one of the reasons why I chose to study foreign languages, it's a great feeling when you finish a translation and realize someone is gonna get some help from what you've done... and I also guess that I love it because of the feeling of power it gives you... you're the expert, the one people ask for confirmation about translation matters....I know, show off much, what can I say? i'm human, sue me....
