Primeval Episode 3x1
Oh, my show! I actually missed you, and your attempts to show Merlin how bad CGI is REALLY done.
Please tell me I'm not the only person watching Primeval.
Random Note -- New Security Guy kept reminding me strongly of some other actor/character, but I couldn't put my finger on it, and it was making me crazy, but then I got it. He looks just like an older version of Kyle from Kyle XY. y/n?
The Not So Awesome
*wtf? Now they can do magical anomaly readings and tell what era/time period the creature came from? When you have fancy new gadgets, I expect them to be INTRODUCED. See: anomaly tracker.
*Jenny-Claudia's role seems a bit less clearly defined in this episode. It's like her job is suddenly a cross between Jenny and Claudia's - which is probably where she should be characterization wise, at this point, but not professionally.
*Hot Egyptologist pulling a total Daniel Jackson/SG-1 moment was pretty amusing at first... but I'm just not sure about how the whole SG-1ish direction, with the tying mythology to timetravel/actual creatures, is going to play out. We shall see, I suppose.
The Awesome
* "Oh, by the way: Professor Cutter won't like you and he'll go out of his way to make your job as difficult as possible. Try not to take it personally."
* New Egyptologist? In certain shots, blindingly hot! Plus, her obliviously enthusiastic gruesome tales to small children? Awesome!
* Cutter's girly hair! heeeeee. I unexpectedly love it. Sam Winchester, eat your heart out.
*Claudia-Jenny UST with Cutter = YAY. I love those two. Certainly started the episode out right for me. Of course, I can already see it coming - all season, everything conspiring to keep them for hooking up. Damn you universe!
*The bit of Connor & Abby domesticity
* I would not have thought it possible, but Abby is possibly even more adorable now. And HER SCRUNCHY SHORTS and gun! in! hand! OMG, CUTENESS.
* Connor seeming competent with guns now. It just wouldn't have been believeable if they kept that gag running all the way through S3. He's got to get good training at some point. So, thank you show.
* How much do I LOVE that Dr "Egyptologist" Paige thought she saw a goddess when she ran into a dinosaur? It's just neat in her head. She can stay!
* Lester gets a foil! And it's a gorgeous, no-nonsense & intimidating woman.
* "There was an eye witness. Um, a young woman at the museam." "Well, you know. Have her shot and dispose of the body discretely. ... just kidding!"
* Connor doomed! FOR LIFE!
* Multiple Steven references! I like that they all haven't forgot he existed.
* "Tell them I'm on my way." *gun! swift exit!* Connor: (nonchalant, into the handset) "Action Man says he's coming." I LOVE YOU CONNOR.
* Yay tying things back to Future!World. Glad they didn't drop that thread.
* The 'Next Time On' promo. Actually looks damn promising.

* They continue to all be completely terrible at this! Ah, ARC Team. You make Torchwood seem highly competent. <3!
