What is with straight guys and their aversion to sucking dick?

Haven't posted since July, as my life has been in a definite standstill for a couple years now. A pleasant standstill, but a standstill nonetheless. I've been doing nothing and no one, which has been surprisingly nice.
My life is: Watching too much just enough British tv and grainy, wooden tongued, terrifically low budget gay movies. Drinking at least five cups of coffee a day, up until six pm. Sleeping in on Saturdays. Sitting - literally - at the end of my seat, cheering Wladimir Klitschko's patient and calculated boxing. Dialing into conference calls in my pajamas. Endless explanations to family and friends about my lack of interest in dating, who can't or won't listen to that gut feeling I have inside me that simply states, "I'm not ready." (Buffy would talk about cookie dough, probably, which is (again) probably sort of but not absolutely the idiocy I once thought it was).
I've still been following fandom, albeit at a tentative distance. The increasing intrusion of the media over the past couple years into something I once considered my secret, private, special place has been disconcerting for me and is probably 75% of the reason for my lack of online interaction. I guess I just kept thinking if I waited long enough, they'd go away. That's MS. Silvia Ostrich to you, btw.
