About a month ago a friend of mine set me up with her brother, who is a gentle soul and not used to the likes of me.
We went to see Milk, which was a pretty well made movie. He cried, I didn't.
And then we sat at a coffee shop, and All Along the Watchtower came on in the background.
I say to him "I think I might be a Cylon. I've been hearing this song a lot lately".
He say "which song?"
I'm hoping he just wasn't paying attention to the background noise, but alas, he really doesn't know who Jimmy Hendrix is. Not that I'm such an expert, but still, not even knowing who he is?
And then, silly me, I try to explain the Cylon thing. The guy looked at me as if I really was a Cylon.
Needless to say, I haven't heard from him or his sister since.
The strange thing is that I thought I was the cool one in this story, the "In crowd", and he was the uninformed and the one disconnected from reality.
I just thought it was a funny situation worth reporting. Especial because All Through the Watchtower just popped in to my head again.
