My dancing lesson has made me quite depressed

I LOVE dancing. I am always dancing. I have one half hour ballroom lesson every week but in between that I am dancing round the house, perfecting my balance practicing my pliés and arabesques in the hope that someday I can dance ballet again ( Read more... )

I hope you find a new school too, but dont let anyone push you out of doing something you enjoy.

Fuck them this is about you getting what you want. If you have to, make them work for you, after all your paying them (so I assume).Tell them what you want. And if they are not pushing you, push yourself just that bit harder, maybe they might just wake up pay attention and realise your serious about this.

If it all just gets too much show your amateur dramatic skills off instead! Turn on them in a huff and ask if they can recommend another dance school because your unable to work in the shambles they have going on!

LMAO

They are too ingrained in their ways to change, I think, however when I leave I will most definitely make it clear why, and maybe that will make a difference. But I shall definitely push and push myself; it is just hard when your teacher does not care for much except your money.

Oh and I forgot to say your local library should have a list of local dance schools, amateur dramatic clubs etc. At least several years back I remember looking for acting groups/ classes and I found a list of all the local stuff on the library computer system. I believe most if not all library's should have access to this information.

Ooh that's a great idea, thanks! I know some people have dance lessons at stage schools, so I'ma look into that. And I'm off to my library tomorrow XD

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time at this new school. Fingers crossed you can find a new one soon. There's little point in continuing to go if you're having a miserable time there and you feel as though you're not getting the corrections you need.

Yes, I agree, I am just finding it hard searching for a new one. But I shall persevere :)
