Yup. I went swimming yesterday. Can feel it in my pectorals every time I stretch. That's a new place, and possibly a result of trying the butterfly stroke. I got it. Sort of. Didn't manage to figure out the dolphin kick that's supposed to go with it ( Read more... )

During the summer between fourth and fifth grade, I moved to North Carolina. Or maybe I should say "we." Me, my mother, and Travis. I remember that the summer break was very fore-shortened, thanks to too many snow days in Massachusetts resulting in us being in school almost until July, and North Carolina schools starting at the beginning of August ( Read more... )

I just read two chapters of a sociology book examining the reasons women in two different case studies chose to return to Orthodox Judaism and Lubavitcher Hasidism, respectively. I then decided to reflect on why I'm converting, in my private journal. There's a lot more to it, but I've come to a realization:
