So golden week was fun fun fun times. My friend Lexi and I went to Tokyo for 3 days to shop, hang around and see Takizawa Kabuki!
So I braved the night bus to Tokyo yet again, it's a long ride but on the right bus it's not so bad. Unfortunately on the bus I started to cone back with my mild spring cold a got a pretty icky sire throat. But I got there and trolled in the Shibuya Starbucks for several hours in the morning reading my kindle and watching the city come alive. Finally my travel compatriots made their way into the city. The first day we were joined by Erin, who has been such a brave trooper in Ibaraki. They are still somewhat plagued with aftershocks, and who was my temporary roomie over Japanese school spring break.
We had a good time shopping and johnnys-ing it up, and then Lexi and I made a dash to the Nissay for Kabuki. However as I did nit throw myself in the closing doors of a subway train and thus we stood next to it as it started up and pulled away, I wad late to a johnnys event for the first time. Luckily we were only a little late and missed only a small part of the overture, and were still able to buy goods at intermission do it all turned out alright
So this is technically the 2nd time I've seen the show, although last time I saw it it was still called Enbujo. They've changed the story of the 2nd act from Yoshitsune to Masakado ( who I can't say I'd heard much about before). I have to say I preferred the Yoshitsune version but this one was pretty cool too. Lexi really loved it though, and the show was EPIC as usual. Honestly he could drop Kakumei and I wouldn't be too sad, but I really love these shows
They also had the poster for Gabrielle Chanel. I'm glad he is getting these opportunities, but I still don't think I care enough about the show to spend the money involved in going, considering he is in less than half of it, even though I really love Tsubasa. Maybe I'll consider it if it comes to Osaka again. I will go to Playzone though since I missed it last year!
In honor of Kabuki we tried on fabulously colorful kimonos in a second hand shop in Harajuku! Boy do I love shopping in Harajuku, especially the second hand shops
Tokyo was a blast and then Shimane was fun too. We picked an excellent day to go to Izumo Taisha, a dance performance of the Orochi legend and a wedding ceremony! Lucky!
Edit: Wow I never realized these iphone photos were so big! Pretty good quality too, go iphone!
