update update update
I figured I'd update. So I thought I'd do an update for my friends here and try to get into the swing of writing again. Because life became busy and then after it didn't become busy, I grew lazy in writing and just enjoyed reading. And playing my various games on Facebook. And oohasparklie poked me and stuff. So, yeah. SHOULD WRITE!
Anyways, what has been happening? Lots of stuff really. Of course, I write in lists.
1. My dad came for a visit over the winter. He's gone back to Canada now. We did do a mini trip to Taipei which was interesting. Will post photos sometime shortly.
2. November to December was filled with weddings as those friends on Facebook noticed my hundreds of photos of me at weddings in various pretty dresses. I was a bridesmaid for one. I was invited to 4 others but could only make it to 3 as I had to go to work that day. Two of the weddings actually took place on the same day. One in the afternoon and the other in the evening. The one in the afternoon was actually a close friend of mine. She had a spur of the moment wedding. She also now lives up the street from me so now we see each other quite a bit.
3. Someone at work suddenly resigned in February. It was surprising and though we didn't really get along (many of my friend locked ones were mostly grumbles over working with her), she oddly left me a slice of cake with my name on it and a thank you note for being the only one who was honest to her. So, I called her up to thank her and to keep in touch. We talked for quite a long time. Mostly me listening to her and me hopefully giving her guidance. It was odd. I felt strangely sad she left.
4. My landlady hiked up my rent. Since I have also grumbled about her in friend locked posts, I decided now was a good time to move. So, I found a new flat in the same building. Just up the stairs. So, during the month of February, I was busy packing and moving. And unpacking. Arranging my mail to be forwarded for a temporary amount of time. I finished unpacking, as friends on Facebook will notice my joyous glee over having Ikea come in with closets the other day. Now, I just have to get curtains. The place has no curtains and the curtains from my last flat actually belonged to my landlady. I hated them muchly but was too lazy to change them. Now, I have to get new ones to my own liking. Hopefully will get them near the end of the week or next week. Right now, I've been spending my time curtain shopping. Getting quotes, etc. And when I'm completely settled in, I think I'll invite friends over and do a housewarming party.
5. This month, two of my friends who married a couple of years ago suddenly announced they were pregnant. One of them being my best friend so I'm completely ecstatic about that one. The other one is a guy so I suppose I should correctly say that his wife is pregnant. They were planning for a while now. He now gave me his cue stick as he now has no more time to play pool.
6. Watched the Oscars last night. I'm glad Avatar didn't win. It was an enjoyable film but COME ON! Oscar? I loved Sandra Bullock's dress. It was so beautiful. And how gorgeous is Kate Winslet's dress? I'd kiss Meryl Streep, too. She's so fabulous.
7. Watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. I'm not sure what to think. I'm not sure if I liked it or not. But I did love all the costumes. And Helena Bonham Carter was one word ... awesome.
What's ahead in this year? I have no idea at the moment, though I have already been invited to two weddings this year. One in August and one in November. I also have a housewarming party next week.
I also miss Paris. A lot.
