Bea Arthur died this Saturday. She was 86 and had been out of the public eye suffering from cancer for several years.

Kurt Vonnegut, one of my favorite authors, died tonight of complications from a head injury. It makes me sad. So it goes.

I don't know if it disturbs me more that Henry Taube is dead, or that he died a month ago and I just now heard of it. It's a shame - he was a brilliant man, and by all accounts I've heard also very personable. Cheers to a man who shaped my current field, and whose contributions I use today in my laboratory.
