Whenever I have to do a bench extraction, I am super-glad to have the cleanest work spaces in my lab, and among many labs I've seen. OCD can pay off!
This week, I avoided the repurchase $300 of chemicals and 3-4 days of work for a mg-scale nucleotide derivative after I spilled it at the last step. 30 minutes washing it off the bench-top, and it was off to the regularly scheduled purification.
