Yesterday, decorating party for National Coming Out Week was a success. I made a couple of signs for my car, the designated "Picnic Food Transport Unit" next Saturday. As much as I would love to march across town hefting signs and singing with the rest of the bunch, I fear my ankle is already complaining bitterly at the prospect. I'm barely up for a half-mile if I need to partially cross campus. A whole mile a this point might do me in.

So, picnic, you say? Yes! This coming Saturday (10/11) at 4p at Lederer Park on University Drive. Bring a dish. Dogs welcome. If you're up for a march, meet the crew beforehand at 3p at the Allen Street Gates. I'll take the food in my car so you needn't worry about dropping your casserole.

Got a surprise visit from catlins2busy and Andy today, which was very enjoyable. We sat around and chatted for about an hour before they had to be on their way again. It had been forever, so I was quite pleased despite the surprise and still being in my jammies.

My housemate mowed the whole lawn yesterday, so I gifted her with the beer bread I made last night. Not being able to mow it myself until this week and still not having time or inclination, the grass had got a mite out of control.

DKos: Sarah Palin Debate Flow Chart

Another political disaster, McCain did a Q&A with the Washington Blade. I am pleased he answered the questions sent to him, but unimpressed with his answers.

copperwise posted a Vindication of Joe Six-Pack. Because we really aren't who Sarah Palin or many politicians make us out to be.

Via superlib, Fudgey Frosted Brownies, so I don't lose the link when my browser inevitably crashes. I hear they're fantastic, and plan to make some for the aforementioned picnic. :)

Also delicious: Cafe Laura theme dinners for the term. I need to choose wisely; total costs tend to run about $25 per person. I have found that I do enjoy fine dining alone, but if you see one of these and desire a companion, feel free to let me know.

Saving for later: Hoover Duros vacuum cleaner. Because 2 months is turning into a long time to not own or use a vacuum, even in a shoe-free, no-pets house.
