6 days until orlando
first week i will be in sarasota til christmas
second week i will be in orlando til the 4th
then spring classes start and i dont get another break until april (spring break)
parents come in february for my white coat ceremony
im applying for the Schweitzer fellowship, where I'll get a $2,000 stipend to create a sustainable service project in the greater Burlington area. I'm going to try to continue a project with a rehabilitation gym to develop activities and arts/crafts for developmentally challenged children (autistic, ADD, etc.). Hopefully the gym will eventually take over the class and integrate it into their weekly schedule.
I'm also going for the Emergency Medicine Interest Group exec board.
Oh and another cool thing: I'm applying to be a Trustee of the University of Vermont. It's apparently a sizeable but manageable amount of work, but it's the only university in the U.S. that allows a student to be a voting member of the board. I'm going to apply, it'd be a pretty sweet accomplishment and I'd learn a lot. Plus I get a sweet parking pass (basically I can park anywhere I want)
this week in UVM COM is basically Med School Sex Ed.. its actually like an Intro to Sex Ed but its still really funny to watch classmates try to find the clitoris on cadavers and ask about female orgasms. Lolz
