promotion
Well it’s not really a promotion, but today Karie told me that I was going to be trained to work in Pharmacy. Vixs is going out of business so the Wegmans pharmacy will be flooded with orders. Karie said that I was picked because I work well with the ‘older clientele’. That means I was so smiley when the old people came through my line that they decided I should work with them all the time! But seriously, I am happy about this, not because it’s a change, but because they noticed me. Also maybe I’ll be able to get a few more hours if I work in more than one department.
Every penny I’ve earned I owe to RIT…nothing to spare, even with Wegmans’ past generosity. Maybe now I can pick up more hours and more cash. Spending money would be nice.
I’ve worked there for about two years, starting at minimum wage. Now I’m on a six-month raise and I’ve made it to about seven an hour for working hard. They didn’t take pity on me, it wasn’t cause I was a girl or a minority it was because I worked hard. Ahhhh, capitalism is such a beautiful thing.
