Bradlea and the nutcracker

Bradlea (female) from 3-D class is a fellow opera lover. So amidst our plans to overthrow the classrooms pop playing we decided to go to an eastman concert together. That was at the end of last quarter, time was sparse and we all needed every minute to finish final projects. So last week, we were finally going to meet at Eastman's "Music A Nova". Father dear and I went, but she never showed up. I hate it when people ditch me. She appologized via email, her ride disappeared at the last minute.

Last friday we finally made it to the jazz ensemble. Her chauffeur was a fellow from the dorms named Mike. He was a nice, artistically clueless, engineer, but engineers aren't hard to find at RIT. I got the feeling he was her boyfriend by the way he rolled his fingers over her knuckles while the ensemble played "Lo'Flame".

The way the pianist's fingers ran over his intrument's keys reminded me of my feet in DDR. Meanwhile, a rainbow danced up and down the trombon, as the player swayed left and right. The color met midway, hit his sleeve, and disappeared -- swallowed up by it. He paused, mid sway two spots of red shimmered on either end of the insturment, then returned to playing.

After the concert Bradlea went about identifying the different art periods influencing the theater's architecture. I wish I had art history back in Highschool...oh wait...that was one of the history books I refused to read. hmm.

Saturday was the nutcracker with sharah. Fun times, as kelly says, although I wasn't nearly as inspired by it as "Sweeny Todd" the last production we went to. We decided on a joint illustration assignment due after christmas. Yeah sharah!! she also gave me tips for two...three self given writing assignmenst so I can *gasp* finish them.

concert, sharah, friends
