Yet another update.

1) Tomorrow comes the interview for La-Z-Boy. Eeeeep. I've never done anything like this before. Must not panic, must not panic...

2) I pulled down a huge archive of mod files. Unfortunately, I have nothing that can play 'mod.*' files - Amigas put the extension first, then the file name. I'm too lazy to rename them, of course. I guess the only thing to do is ssh them over to my Debian box... wait, to do that, I'd need to start up the ssh service, and to do *that*, I'd need to figure out their particular take on Unix services... fuck. (ETA: I'm an idiot, they use init.d like everybody else. >_<)

3) Debian's being a pain again. This is partly because I've never had the misfortune of trying to use it day-to-day before. I'm sure if I did enough reading, I'd make sense of whatever they're trying to pull, but...

Oh, and making i810fb into a module? Shockingly enough, it actually works, without making X.Org shit itself, but now I need to figure out how they set up their module autoload system - and then I'll have to reboot, because I forgot to pass it any parameters. Time to hit debian.org and figure this out, I guess. Then it's time to get the hang of using screen, setting up irssi and centerim and a console e-mail client, and figuring out whether mpd's tracker playback actually sounds good.

4) The bike *still* hasn't been fixed.
foibey was nice enough to point me towards a solution - spoke keys - we call them spoke wrenches over here, but whatever, at least I know what to look for if/when I hit the bike shop (I found one, not sure they sell wheel-building tools). Of course, it's on the mountain somewhere, so good luck ever getting there on my own, especially if it's up too high. And people think that being carless is *practical*... something tells me they've never had to live in a small town.
