I've finally got around to watching Season 9 of Smallville (after the utter mess that was the end of Season 8 - I do wish I could make myself skip episodes) and it is filling me with so much glee. As much Clark/Lois as I could possibly ask for.
I just watched Pandora, Disciple and Absolute Justice and the holding hands in the elevator at the end of Pandora made me squeal ♥ I quite like Smallville's Mia although she is nothing like Mia from the comics. I didn't expect to enjoy Absolute Justice as much as I did because I'd heard bad things and I'm not all that familiar with the JSA - but apparently I'm much more fond of Stargirl than I thought. It is possible that the vague familiarity aided my enjoyment because I could enjoy the cameos as near caricatures without worrying about the details of characterisation? And all the references made me smile. IDK. Also John Johns reappeared and mentioned cookies!
I think the episode did a better job of tying itself to the main characters of the show than the Legion episode (also written by Geoff Johns) and gave the proto-Justice League a much needed kick in the arse as regards to working as a team. It is giving me hope for the upcoming Jaime as Blue Beetle episode, which I'll probably get around to watching in another two years time.
