how have you been?
I can't believe it's been a month since I last updated on LJ. ^^; Lots to talk about, though I shall try to things brief. I'm also interested in how you have been, since my reading of lj has not been as thorough as I would have liked. You can thank insanefriends for this post on the state of silvermuse. *hug* XD
I participated in saiunkoku_fic's holiday exchange. I'll repost the two fics I submitted here, for those interested. The exchange was fun to participate in, though it really brought to the foreground my failings are a writer. Still, there's no way to improve without practice. :)
Started college again, which is half the reason I haven't had time to update. I initially started with a 28 credit courseload: Physics, Japanese, Cell Bio, Cell Bio Enrichment, Transitional Chinese, Chemistry, and Genome Annotation. However, the pace of Chinese proved to be far too fast for the time I had to devote to the course, so I ended up dropping after about a week and a half. I still hope to study abroad in China this summer, unless I end up participating in a research internship. There's a Duke fellowship in genetics and a DOE at either Brookhaven or Berkeley that I plan to apply for.
I also turned 19, which was a climatic coming of age ... NOT. I was informed that I could sneak across the border to indulge in alcohol, but somehow bumming around LJ seems more appealing. Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes though, they were much appreciated! ♥
Yesterday was Science Olympiad, and I'll save the whole story for a post of its own. Sufficed to say that I had a wonderful time, but was disappointed in the team not making it to states.
blind_go is holding a fanart round, along with a FST challenge. I posted Counterexample, a FST for petronia's A Proof By Contradiction. I'm really interested in what FSTs other people have in mind for the myriad blind_go fic, so please post yours! ♥
