【Uta no ☆ Prince-sama ♪】 lyrics: MASQUERADE MIRAGE
Well, that didn't take long~ Here's "MASQUERADE MIRAGE," the first of three new "Gekidan Shining" Theatrical drama unit CDs-of-sorts. This new series of CDs seem to take after the SHUFFLE unit CDs by mixing up the groups of characters for each. And if the title weren't enough of a giveaway, this first album is masquerade-themed and features Reiji, Ai, and Natsuki! The second album--"Tenkamuteki no Shinobi Michi"--will feature Otoya, Masato, Syou, and Cecil, and will somehow involve ninjas. And the third and final installment in this group--"JOKER TRAP"--will feature Ranmaru, Camus, Tokiya, and Ren (I am SO looking forward to this group!!), and at my best guess will involve either casinos or the mafia, or maybe some combination of the two...? Anyway, should proove to be some exciting stuff!
Now for some notes:
- I get total "Phantom of the Opera" vibes from this song, which in truth, I'd expected ever since I saw the cover art uploaded about a month ago~ And of course, I really enjoy this song! And now I have a powerful urge to listen to the song "Masquerade" from "Phantom"~♪
- Now for some French: whether or not this song/album was meant to allude to "Phantom of the Opera" is beyond my knowledge, but if it was, then that would explain the minor use of French throughout the lyrics--a couple of which were just used as alternate pronunciations. "Ange" is French for "angel," "pierrot" is "clown" (or "sparrow" according to Google Translate), and I'd hope you'd already know that "un, deux, trois" is "one, two, three." And I'm fairly certain the numbers are used in this instance for counting rhythm and dance steps, like for a waltz or any other form of dance in triple meter.
Once again, I hope to get to my Hetalia requests next, assuming nothing else comes up to distract me... ^^;
