Gone Forever, but not Forever

Gawd Strewth! I just looked at the date of my last post on here and it's been AGES! Well over 18 months which is horrendous, even by my lacksadaisical standards. And what have I gotten up to in 18 months plus loose change? I wish I could say it's been too much fun to think about being on the internet but not even that ( Read more... )

Wow! I was just looking over my f!list yesterday and wondering what had happened to you.

I am so sorry to hear about your father. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you.

Congratulations on your baby niece! I got a new nephew last November and finally got to see (and hold!) him last month. Babies are sooo sweet and to see your *little* sibling (mine are my little brother's kids) as a mom or dad is amazing.

My big news: Husband and I now *own* a home--a 2 bedroom townhome in a wonderful old coop community. After 7 years in a beautiful rural apartment but in an ultraconservative cultural wasteland we're in a multicultural liberal environmentally-progressive community. Yay!

Sounds like you're in a wonderful community too--any place that can support such a cool Gothic Punk store must be! How is working in the Cambridge libraries?

I'm using an icon of our kittycat, Ivan Vorcatril--don't think you've seen a pic of him.

It's also kind of scary to think of the little kid that you bossed around the house when you were younger and complained that they were SOOOO immature, now have responsibility for a little thing like a baby! *eek ( ... )

I'm still doing storytimes at work for the little kids, and our anime club is starting up this month after being "off" all summer--I'm eager to see all of them again! I'm also doing a book discussion in October--the highly popular Twilight series.

Ivan loves tickles and scritches. He's been after me too, but for scritches and petting, not food. He needs loooooovving!

Heheh.. Spook likes tickles but only at times of her choosing, usually just about five minutes after I've climbed into bed and picked up a book. Then she throws herself on the floor just out of reach and offers me her belly. *tart!!*

Have you read the Twilight books yet? I've not but I'm on a bookgroup on Myspace and they're all raving about Twilight! I guess I'd better check it out. *grin*

I've read Twilight and am mostly through the second book. The overall story and some concepts are fascinating; the characterization and writing style are pretty darn blah.

The things I do for work ::sigh:: I'd much rather host a Fullmetal Alchemist discussion group but that wouldn't have nearly the popular draw.

Maybe I'll skip that then, I've got to be into the characters to really enjoy a novel these days. Just read Lonely Werewolf Girl by Martin Millar, which is really brilliant, a proper, modern shapeshifter fairy tale. I love his stuff, dunno how well known he is in the US tho.

I've been reading Cantarella and the new Kaori Yuki, Fairy Cube, which isn't as good as Godchild yet (tho what could be?) although I like the little fairy sidekick, she's 'kawaaaiii'! *grin*

Hope you had a good weekend. :)
