Gone Forever, but not Forever

Gawd Strewth! I just looked at the date of my last post on here and it's been AGES! Well over 18 months which is horrendous, even by my lacksadaisical standards. And what have I gotten up to in 18 months plus loose change? I wish I could say it's been too much fun to think about being on the internet but not even that.

Lemme see, abridged version is as follows...

I've started a new job, which lasted about a year and meant me moving away to t'other end of the country. Which I did in several installments cos we hadn't sold our house. SO I moved into a little flat which I occupied all alone for 6 months. Then my other half and my liddle pussy cat finally rejoined me and we moved to a very lovely house near to the river where were were hoping to stay while he set up his shop Elsewear but then the owner of the house decided to sell it so we had to move again and decided to buy a house which we moved into on a rental basis as the lady selling it didn't have power of attorney to sell because it was her mother's house (stops for breath) and after a month we got cold feet cos of the credit crunch and decided we didn't really want to buy right away. And then I lost my job so it was a good job we didn't buy... but we had to move house AGAIN!!

And I lost my father in the summer, which was a horrible shock and still haven't got to grips with the fact that he'll never be there again when I go home. And someone said that in a sense he's always there now, but I still can't get my head around it.

To balance that out, since the Goddess loves balance, my little sister gave birth to her first baby (which would have been dad's first grandchild too) a month after the funeral. Her name is Ruby and she is truly beautiful. I wish he could see her and hold her.

So, anyway, now we're living in a very lovely rented cottage where we've thankfully stayed put for the past 5 months and we don't have to move *thankyou Goddess!* until at least April and I've just been offered a nice job back in the libraries in Cambridge so all is kinda well again! *phew*

And if you'd have asked me to predict where I'd be in 2 years time, 2 years ago I'd never have thought of any of it. Life is full of surprises, innit?

The moral of this post is "Take nothing for granted and enjoy every day, you never know what's around the corner."
