I swear I want to be better at updating! Really!
Back from Azkatraz and Comic Con. Got home Sunday afternoon and went back to work on Monday. Had an absolute blast while on vacation, still trying to recover.
I would generally type up a huge post going over everything I did, but I'm lucky to be posting at all. I'll be posting pictures from Azkatraz in an album on facebook, though, once I get a patch of time long enough to do such a thing. Azkatraz was rich with HP Geekdom, and it was nice to see my con buddies again! Didn't hurt myself playing quidditch like I did at Terminus, had a blast the whole time. Comic Con as also awesome, although way too crowded for my taste. My favorite parts of CC had nothing to do with the Con itself, but the time with friends. I will also say that I loved seeing the friends I got to see, and I'm sorry I wasn't there long enough to see more of you! Seriously, we were only in Orange County long enough to sleep, do laundry, and eat lunch before heading down to San Diego.
Still absolutely crazy at work. Trying hard to establish a better routine, being thwarted by everything from Helen to the weather. Most of what's wrong right now is money. We need to be making more off the kids we have, but with the economy we're lucky to have the kids we do, and Helen cut prices to keep them here. The result is that if I want a paycheck at all, I spend a lot of time there by myself. One adult to 10 kids, that's the legal ratio. It's just about impossible to make headway in this situation, 'cause you can't do the things that need doing and devote enough attention to the kids to work on changing all the problem behaviors. Trying to mediate, teach, play, clean, keep order, and cook lunch at the same time has proven difficult.
How much jail time do you think I'd get for making Jell-O shots for dessert? That'd make nap time go much more smoothly.
