Okay, so, this is my second entry to starandrea's Puppy Pile Meme. This is also my first fic for anything that is *not* Jungle Fury. Please be gentle.

Downfall
Dana was a strong, competent, capable woman. She was intelligent, and good with small children and fluffy animals. She was the youngest doctor in Mariner Bay, and the Pink Ranger of the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers. She was *not* going to be defeated in this her most difficult hour.
She tensed and relaxed her back, trying to remain calm. Calm, that was the key, she was certain of it. She sensed rather than saw movement to her right, and felt a leg move through the arch her body had formed. She craned her head and saw a bare foot, attached to a jean-clad leg find a home for itself on a green circle.
“Okay… Dana,” Joel’s voice rang through the room like a death knell, “left hand, Blue.”
Dana took a breath, and slowly lifted her left hand from its current resting place (Yellow), and began to contort her body around that of a giggling Kelsey to grope for the nearest Blue circle. If asked as soon as the next day Dana would insist that she had no idea what had happened, all she could be sure of was that she was suddenly on top of one of her best friends, and had another sprawled across her back. She could see Carter pressed full length against Ryan out of the corner of her eye. Both were blushing hard, and not meeting each other’s eyes. Dana slipped a hand from where it was trapped between her body and Kelsey’s and touched her brother’s shoulder. He turned his head to meet her eyes, but his gaze moved to something just beyond…
A bright flash blazed through the room, followed quickly by two more.
When Dana turned her head in the opposite direction, she could see Joel laughing like a loon on the couch, a disposable camera in his hand.
Dana turned back to meet Kelsey’s eyes as Chad clambered off of her. The relief of pressure was welcome, but even more welcome was Kelsey’s laughing, slightly malevolent gaze. Especially since that malevolence wasn’t directed at Dana herself. She crawled off the Yellow Ranger, and reached out a hand to help her up. Carter and Ryan had yet to disentangle themselves, and Dana smiled to herself.
Then she and Kelsey turned to Joel… who had had the good sense to run. Dana growled slightly and took off in pursuit. When she caught him, she reminded herself, she was not allowed to kill him. Angela would never forgive her if she killed the older woman’s groom the night before the wedding.
Still, what kind of groom made his best friends play Twister at his bachelor party? What was wrong with strippers, anyway?
Puppy Pile Matching Meme! If you're reading this, you're invited to write a puppy pile of any size and post it to your journal. For each puppy pile you write, starandrea will match it with another (not necessarily from the same fandom) until we have a little puppy pile of love and fic!
("puppy pile" - wherein multiple people pile on top of or beside each other in a friendly way.)
To play, all you have to do is write a puppy pile and tell starandrea where it is at
http://starandrea.livejournal.com/514342.html?mode=reply. If you want to invite others to play, just post this meme description at the top or bottom of your story (or picture, poem, or other media).
So there you go. Hope it's up to snuff.
