Star Wars Casting Call?
I'm nervous...very nervous.
Reportedly, a casting call for the new Star Wars movie is out and it's supposed to be for the leads of the film. And there are people who are saying it's not looking good for the EU. That presents me with mixed emotions.
On one hand, no EU means no Death of Chewie!! And that is awesome! But on the other hand, no EU means none of my favorite characters are there. No Jaina, Jacen or Mara. And definitely no Anakin Solo (who was my favorite Solo kid!). :(
Now, granted, if they do away with the entire EU storyline, they could still keep the characters. They'll just be different (which is what I was hoping for anyway). I had my own ideas for the new movie with the characters at 30 years after ROTJ. The characters could fit...
Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.
I gave Luke a daughter who is 19 30 years after ROTJ, this could fit.
Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.
Again, I aged down Luke's son, Ben, from the books. 30 years after ROTJ, he would be 21. It could fit. It could also be Anakin Solo as he would be 24 during this time.
A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’t need to be particularly fit.
A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.
Forty something male, fit, military type.
Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.
The rest, I'm not sure of. The late twentysomething male could be Jacen as I have him as 25 in this timeline, but that might be stretching it... Of course, I didn't move his birth in the timeline. But no one fits Jaina at all.
*sighs* Of course, what's worse is the doomsayers, going around and declaring the EU, and all of the characters within, dead. See why I'm so nervous?
