Spartans was fantastic. No way to describe exactly how everything was. From the icy cold showers and the shared housing sites to the inside jokes and the tears of joy we cried, it was one hell of a roller coaster that I sure am going to miss. The people involved share such a passion and committment for this thing; it seeps out of every pore. I miss being around people who have that pure, honest drive. Returning to work has been a challenge, at best. Going from being physically active 17 hours a day to standing in one place for 8, prepared well rounded meals 3 times(usually =P) a day to vending machine snacks, takeout and pasta dishes, sharing a working experience with some of the most motivated, bright, talented, unique individuals in the country and then, well.... I work at Home Depot with 30 and 40 somethings who grumble and groan until payday... let's just leave it at that.
It feels good to know that I put myself through this summer, survived, and came out the other side with a gold medal.
Even if the majority of people that I am surrounded with don't even know or care.
Today I missed it so much that I went for a 10 minute run and took a cold shower. Now I'm off to market basket to get some plain yogurt.
I miss my boy =(
Three days until banquet!
