Day 1 - 365 days of poetry

My Home
2-8-11

The one place where I will be safe
The place that I call home
I hang my hat here
On an imaginary door
I lurk
I step
and there is a slide of shadow
Here I am
Right in my own wonderland
This is where I belong
Wrapped in bleak blankets
and this is where secrecy falls
I tell no lies here
'cause kissing and telling is wrong
but here in my shadow realm
I play by my cards
The ones I decide to draw
This is my palace
The one place where I dwell
though no others can find it
because it's all in my mind.
So dare not take a step
unless you want a mirror cracked
in this place I call my merriment of hell
Stay out of my palace
For I have locked the doors
the key is in my hand
and no one can take it away again.
