Wow, that wasn't so bad...
Today, I told my mother about my relationship with Chien. I'd tried working up the nerve to tell her a few times before-- my mother and I have always been very close, and it was really bothering me that I was essentially hiding this big part of my life from her.
To my great relief, she took it really well. She was a little surprised, which really is to be expected (after all, Chien is literally twice my age), but overall happy for me. She said she was happy that I "wasn't tied down" in my relationships, and that I was "enjoying the company of men". Heh.
So, that was certainly a pleasant surprise. I certainly don't need validation from my parents (gods know I've never gotten that from my father), but it's always nice to know that your mother's happy for you.
In other news, I'm knee-deep in apartment hunting and midterms. Joy. Right now I'm pretty damn thankful for the two men who provide me with such an excellent distraction from my stresses! ;-)
