We saw 9 last night, it was a very beautiful movie, but the plot line and characters needed some work to make it as good as the artwork. Tommy made the comment that the images of the city are huge compared to the dolls, but they move through the space so quickly it feels small. The ending was odd, nothing that any of the characters did quite had any real motivation behind it, probably because the characters weren't fully fleshed out. I really felt until the last minutes of the movie, that the scientist's intent was to feed the pieces of his soul to the machine to make it human.
Also, what was up with bodies that don't rot? Clearly the war had been over for a while, everything was rusted and the machines all broken except the cat beast, but the human bodies were still whole. The short was definitely better than the full length film
