So also awhile ago when I found the stack'o laptops, there were 2 iBooks among them (and I needs mention: nothing in the stack had power cords. A Rocketfish multi-tip laptop adapter has worked wonders for most all of them to get tried [but not the 2 macs]). These iBooks just so happened to have a mac AirPort wireless card each, which I was able to harvest and place into Carissa's old 'lampstand' G4 iMac. I also gave it another stick of pc133 laptop ram giving it a whopping 512 total. While its not perfect, it runs pretty alright now. I've upgraded its OS X as far as it will go: to 10.1.5
Does anyone have an old disc/unused serial for OS X 10.3? It would seem 10.3.9 is as far up as this model can take (though some folks claim 10.4.5 will work)
Anyone who has dealt with macs may know: their OS is STUPIDLY expensive. All I want is an OS that allows full internet functionality. As it stands, its just a pretty internet radio at the moment. Youtube, flash, etc all don't work because there ARE NO NET BROWSERS that work with the stupid old OS, but a 'new copy' of a 'newer' (yet still defunct and unsupported compared to current) OS would cost over $100.
