New Who!

+ I really really wanted to like this episode, but I thought it was a pretty poor season opener, to be honest. Drat. : (
+ Billie and David looked and sounded wonderful (as ever), but the plot was thin, the dialogue trite in parts (10's 'life' speech towards the end reminded me a little too much of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park - 'Life will find a way'), and it all fell a little flat. Plus, bodyswapping? Nothing new covered there - pure comedic deux ex machina.
+ Who the hell was in charge of the scientific explanations for this?! Seriously W.T.F.? 'Hey, if I mix all of the IV fluids together (that's INTRAVENOUS - stuff that goes IN YOUR VEINS) and expel it as an EXTERNAL GAS/SPRAY thingie then not only will the fluids immediately combine and bond to produce a cure-all, they'll cure you through the miracle of NOT GOING IN YOUR VEINS.' Sorry for the capslock of rage, but c'mon! I only did GCSE science (and I wasn't very good at it), but even I know the implausibility of this!
+ Speaking of the caplock of rage, what is it with 10 being all shouty?
+ New New York? Futurama called. They want their gag back.
+ However, next week looks like it could be a cracker. Werewolves? Check. Queen Victoria? Check. David's natural accent? Check! That werewolf looked like it could kick Lupin's arse.
+ Maybe when I get to watch NE again, I might enjoy it more, but I think I've been too hyped about the new season (and especially David T), so maybe anything short of perfect will inevitably be a disappointment.

Edit I realise ranting about science in a show which major premise revolves around a time-traveling alien is probably a bit superfluous, but damnit - it bugged me that much!
