Right, so I made fantastic bread over the weekend. Really fantastic honey oat bread. Because I've recently discovered that the bread machine that has been rotting under the sink for two years is actually God's gift to carbohydrate addiction. It's dangerously easy, as long as you have a three hour span in which you can press "start," wander around

Definitely did not feel this earthquake this morning, though apparently a lot of others in Lexington did. I think I even woke up around that time, which is either a nice coincidence, or it woke me up but was over before I was conscious enough to feel it. Go no cues from the puppy either, as she was in her crate this morning instead of our bed,

Oh, heaven. This is the first time this year I have walked outside and thought I could be wearing shorts. I think it's only 60, but to my winter-riddled body it feels like the heavens have opened and angels are singing

We need to buy it off iTunes though, because the version we DVR'd has REALLY HUGE SCHOOL AND BUSINESS CLOSINGS scrolling underneath the entire time, because the Ice Storm That Was Supposed To Eat Lexington But Didn't Quite, So Whitney Had To Go To

Was chatting with the husband last night after we got home from work when I looked up and saw a giant elderly golden retriever on our deck, prompting a "what the hell?" in the middle of a sentence. The presence of said canine of course sends Derby into a desperate frenzy that ultimately reduces her to making noises that sound somewhat like a

Hm. Power lines down, blown transformers, roofs in trees, Harrodsburg Road shut down, Nicholasville Road traffic lights without power, schools closed, water everywhere...sounds like a typical spring storm in central Kentucky, right
