My day!!!
I'm going to hold off on the meme fora few days, and then do them all at once. I'm not in any mood to do it right now >>;;
So, my day. I had my 3rd sleepless night since tuesday, and the pain in my ear was getting worse and worse. Yesterday I got the strongest painkillers I could get over the counter, but they worked for about half an hour, and the pain didn't even go completely. My parents told me to go back to the nurse the next day (today) and see if she could do anything about the pain. So I got up this morning pretty much in tears because of the pain, and my parents saw my facebook and phoned me >>;; And basically told me to go to the doctors and get an emergency appointment because even though I wasn't registered they shouldn't refuse me because I was in so much pain, and that my dad was coming down to pick me up ;A;
So after collecting myself, I went down to the doctors. And once there proceeded to break down in tears again because they were talking about missing stuff from my forms D: After which they showered me in tissues and promised me an appointment and sent me upstairs to the emergency place XD;; I hate crying in public but in my defence I had 3 sleepless nights and a load of pain to deal with. After finally calming down, I was called in, and the Dr manhandled my ear and basically said that she could see my ear drum, and the right ear looked worse off with a build up of wax than the left did, so she had no idea what was wrong with me....I was in tears again by this time /fails badly with pain/ and she phones the hospital and tells me that the emergency ward will look at me if I can get there asap. She wrote me a note in which she said, and I quote, my 'distress looked genuine', and sent me on my way.
My dad wasn't going to be there for a few hours, so I drew money out for a taxi, and went home to tell my mum so she could update dad. At this point, one of my housemates was up and booked me a taxi and offered to come with me to the hospital, which I am ever grateful for because I don't think I would have been able to do it alone >>;; So we get to the hospital, and finally find the place that we're meant to be, and after a while of waiting, we're sent in. The nurse asked me some questions, and then looked at both my ears and said that she had no idea how the dr at the clinic thought she could see my ear drum, because my ear canal was so swollen it was completely closed off. So I was pretty much diagnosed wrong twice before the hospital (and the syringing of the ear at uni would have probably made it a lot worse D: ). And then she told me that I had a severe ear infection D: She had to put a wick in my ear, which looked kinda like a matchstick :s, to force my ear canal open. It hurt a lot >>;; The nurse was really angry at the doctor for not seeing the infection, because apparently it was really obvious >>;; And she put ear drops in and I pretty much lay on my side until my dad arrived.
We then collected the prescription and went back to my house to pack and take the painkillers. And then left for home. I felt kind of bad because my dad told me that he hadn't eaten properly yet >>;; I would have fed him at my house if he;d said something. The painkillers kicked in a little into the journey, and they are so much better than the others!! The pain is pretty much gone except for a weird feeling in my ear! I have a hospital appointment on sunday in birmingham to review the ear and change the wick, but hopefully it'll start getting better now!! :D I've pretty much lost faith in the uni nurse >>;; I still need to cancel the appointment on monday though :s But on the upside, the hospital was one of the nicest hospitals i've ever been too!
So i'm back home to recover now! Not sure for how long, but hopefully i'll be back by wednesday so I can go see Harry potter with friends! And i'm also in a much better mood now that the pain isn't so bad XD;; I haven't been in the best of moods lately.
