PONDER - And some house pictures
So I was thinking about this 'You would do this if you were a good person because it's good for the baby' stuff that gets thrown around here and there, and residual guilt I feel because I do not do this stuff. I was thinking about this while working on the house on the weekend. Often tacked onto this is 'But this is natural, you have to do what is natural or you are not a fit person'.
Anyway. There are creatures out there that reproduce by killing the gestating parent. I keep thinking there is a metaphor there somewhere on nature and how I am damn well not going to do something 'just because' it is natural.
Reminds me of my rather derp-like expression of bewilderment in the hospital when I was advised to take herbs because they were natural and therefore safe. I pointed out several poisonous plants and noted those were natural, but I guess I'm not a team player or something.
On the weekend we had help from Loki and Elise on Saturday with getting wiring and sanding done on the house. On Sunday, Chaos and I went crazy hell-for-leather tidying the laundry room, and I painted the bathroom door out near the massive pile of rubbish where we pulled the kitchen out because we are slightly crazy. Don't worry about the paint on the glass - there's protective plastic over those panels.
The glass bricks are almost all in the wall now, after a goddamn monumental effort. It turned out to be easier to put them in place with silicon sealant than mortar, to be honest. Hopefully tomorrow with the assistance of my parents, I will drive up there and my mother and I will paint the laundry while my father looks after Tegan for a few hours.
The bricks do look pretty impressive with light coming in through the bathroom. It may be possible to lay the last glass brick tonight.
In other random news, am trying to book in for crazy camp for anxiety disorder and catastrophic thoughts after meeting with my GP. Somewhat bothered by all the hypnotherapy and 'energy counseling' crap on the place I am supposed to go to. I am not exactly New Age when it comes to medicine.
