on LJ, Facebook, Twitter, and crossposting

While I understand the business logic they're aiming at (I think, anyway) I also think that apocalypsos says it very well.

For the record: I will not be crossposting to Facebook, because I hate that platform/service like fire and do actually strive to keep this identity dissociated from it because I don't trust it or its operators in the slightest. (As far as I'm concerned, FB makes all of LJ's decisions look carefully-thought-out, very ethical, and completely moral, which is saying something.) Also, see the post linked above for the social reasoning why not.

Twitter I'm less bothered by, but 140-character limit, people, come on, what are they thinking? And I would definitely prefer that no comments to posts of mine get crossposted. Please and thank you, everyone.

Now it's off to work. How is it September already?
